Student Volunteer

The Special Event Crew’s responsibilities include helping with various on-site and off-site events, birthday parties, exhibitions, and seasonal projects. Volunteer dates and times vary, but typically happen on the weekends, usually anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours. Most events are at the arts center but a few are at other locations.

Students who would like to apply must:

  • Attend a training session (unless previously attended)
  • Make a commitment to volunteering from April to the end of June
  • Confirm that their parents/guardians recognize the importance of this commitment, and that the students have time in their schedule to volunteer
  • Volunteer for at least 5 dates
  • Purchase a WWA t-shirt to be worn at the events (cost is $20)

 

Volunteer responsibilities include:

  • Assisting, planning, and carrying out various events and activities
  • Working both individually and collaboratively
  • Displaying problem-solving skills
  • Communicating respectfully
  • Representing West Windsor Arts in a positive manner

Volunteers will build skills including:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Customer service
  • Planning
  • Relationship building
  • Public relations

The West Windsor Arts Council was established as an IRS designated 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 2002. The WWAC is not affiliated with any local, county, or state governmental agency. It has an independent volunteer board of trustees, and is registered as a charity with the State of New Jersey.
