About the Program:
Indian music is rich in cultural heritage and its diverse forms. It encompasses different genres, such as Hindustani, Classical, Gazal, Bhajan, Folk, Thumri, Sufi and Film music.
This is a uniquely designed program. The performance, with remarks and a singing demo, is a unique opportunity to experience the musicality of these 7 genres of music- all in one place, including embracing South Asian and Global influences. It will also present some genres in Film (Bollywood) music. It will also be an enriching experience for those new to Indian music.
This event is designed to be Informative, Interactive and Interesting. The talk will be engaging with several melodious compositions by Rashika. This will be followed by a Q&A session. A journey to explore the art and beauty of music.
About Rashika Ranchan: Rashika Ranchan is an international singer and classical musician, with MBA and Engineering degree. She has presented unique dimensions and various genres of Indian, and contemporary music on stage, Tv and at arts & academic institutions, globally across US, UK, Singapore and India. Some of the other notable performances include Saptak Festival of music (India), Harrow Arts Council (London), Tashkent Cultural Centre, several venues in India, New York, Princeton, and music videos on B4U music and Sony TV. Rashika is also a global social impact change maker and a leader in strategic philanthropy, having worked for over 20 years in public policy and funding roles at major funding institutions around the world.
