From Ethereal to Real – A Navratri Golu Presentation

October 12 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

From Ethereal to Real - A Journey Through Time

This year, West Windsor Arts is thrilled to present a unique Golu that reflects our community’s diversity and creativity. Crafted by local artists Padmaja Ganapathy and team, our Golu explores the pressing issue of global warming through allegory, metaphor, and mythology.

Navratri, the nine-day celebration of divine feminine power, is a vibrant tradition in South India. Traditionally, families display intricately arranged dolls and heirlooms, creating a festive and communal atmosphere.

Join us for Vijayadasami (Victorious 10th day), the last day of Navratri, on October 12 from 4pm to 6pm!

The last day of a Navratri is called Vijayadasami (Victorious 10th day). It is believed that any learning started this day, especially in the arts, will be successful. We invite you all to come participate in an artistic activity with us designing traditional kolams (geometric shapes with aid of dots and lines) and also consider registering for one or more of our art classes or programs offerings.

Another exciting event on the 10th day is laying the dolls to sleep. On Vijayadasami we put the Golu dolls to sleep for the year after 10 days of revelry and celebration .

For accessibility needs, please review our Accessibility Features.  You can also reach out to Kimberly@westwindsorarts.org with questions regarding this event.
