It’s that time of year again…time for our celebrations of the War of the Worlds broadcast, that is!
It was 84 years ago on Mischief Night when a young director, Orson Welles, captured the attention of the nation through his dramatic radio play based on the novel by H.G. Wells. Local panic was said to have erupted when news spread that aliens from Mars had descended upon Grover’s Mill, NJ – a part of current day West Windsor!
Join us as we kickoff this monumental initiative…The mARTian Project, a community sculpture project that will welcome our friendly alien mascot to town!
Featuring:
The reveal and award ceremony for the winning design from our sculpture contest
Talk by A. Brad Schwartz, author of “Broadcast Hysteria”
Tours of the historic Schenck Farmstead, a 1700s-era property with History Museum and multiple buildings to explore
Halloween crafts
Fine food and libations
