Join us for an event of Indian Classical Instrument and Vocal music at Sur Taal Sangam Young Stars concert presented by West Windsor Arts.
The program will feature a Harmonium Solo by Anirudh Ramakrishnan, Tabla Solo by Neil Khare, followed by a vocal presentation by Shankhadip Chakraborty. Watch these young prodigies bring an age-defying performance as they present their solo pieces and accompany each other creating an exciting yet serene atmosphere.

Sur Taal Sangam is a musical institution with the goal to bring the natural and live music environment into mainstream. With a multi-faceted goal, they enable music education (teaching vocal and instrumental music), hold concerts for performers (from upcoming singers to internationally famed musicians) and support many other musical institutions. They are committed to bring authentic music of India to everyone.
Meet the Founder of Sur Taal Sangam
Deepak Dobhal founded Sur Taal Sangam in 2018. A full time IT professional, he is an avidly passionate musician! A West Windsor resident since 2017, he started his musical journey in high school where he got introduced to Instrumental Indian Classical Music by his first guru – late Shri Pashupatinath Pathak. For the last 5 years, he has been learning Hindustani classical music under the tutelage of Smt. Indrani Chakraborty Khare and recently started Harmonium training under the guidance of Sh. Kedar Naphade.
Deepak regularly performs at many public & private events in tri-state area. His past performances include some prestigious venues such as Saint Peter’s University (Jersey City) & Princeton University NJ. Recently he did his first full concert as a lead vocalist which brought live music and dance across a variety of Indian music genres on the stage.
Not limiting his music to himself, Deepak teaches & composes music as well. More importantly, he has been creating and supporting a series of events to create opportunities for artists of all levels – from early-stage students to professional concerts of accomplished senior artists of international fame.
MEET THE ARTISTS
Shankhadip Chakraborty has been learning Hindustani classical vocal music from Srimati Mitali Bhawmik for the past 14 years. He has won several accolades in Indian classical music, including the Chhandayan Jyotsna award for best student of Indian classical music in 2014. In 2023 he was given the Excellence in the Arts – Arts in the Community Award by the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission for his contribution to Hindustani music in Somerset County. He has performed in Raag Rang’s Kal Ke Kalakar, at the Chhandayan headquarters in New York City, Pandit Jasraj Institute of Music and most recently at State Theater of NJ amongst several other venues.
Neil Khare started learning tabla at the age of 4 from his father Anil Khare, continued his training from Shri Surakshya Deshpande, and currently learns from Dr. Amod Dandawate. He has accompanied senior artists such as Srimati Gauri Pathare for her USA 2023 tour, Srimati Aarti Anklikar during her workshop presentation, has played on a New York TV Channel, and has received many awards in the Instrumental solo category. He is a recent graduate from Rutgers University where he majored in Finance and Computer Science.
Anirudh Ramakrishnan is a freshman at Rutgers University studying Mechanical Engineering. He has been learning harmonium since the age of 6, starting his journey with Shri Hemant Kulkarni and for past 3 years, continuing under the guidance of Shri Kedar Naphade. Anirudh has competed in and won prizes in regional and national competitions, such as Radha Govind Dham Dallas’s Vaadya Manjari National competition continue learning and improving his skills!
