Director Margarete Naperski has been teaching and performing since the early 1970’s after studying in NYC from professional mid-east dancers, Serena Wilson, Ibrahim Farrah, Anahid Sofian and Morocco, as well as ongoing workshops throughout the country. Tehani Dance Company came into existence in the late 90’s after Mara’s return from a 2-year residence in Hawaii to learn dances of Polynesia while also teaching mid-east dance in Kaimuki on Oahu. Her student troupe has been providing professional entertainment at assisted living, nursing homes and community events since 2001.
