West Windsor Arts is incredibly humbled and honored to receive this recognition from the township celebrating 10 years of service to the community at the West Windsor Arts Center. The proclamation was presented by Council President Andrea Mandel during the May 24, 2021 town council meeting to Executive Director Aylin Green and board members Elane Gutterman and Doreen Garelick. Board President Jyotika Bahree was also in attendance as well as many other supporters and members.
Here are the contents of the proclamation:
WHEREAS, the arts are an integral part of of a healthy, engaged, and joyful community,
WHEREAS, the establishment of nonprofit arts organizations providing social, educational, economic, and aesthetic benefits for communities are well documented,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council established an arts center in 2010 through a memorandum of understanding and a lease agreement for the former Princeton Junction firehouse with West Windsor township,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council’s mission is to provide high-quality cultural programming that brings people together and transforms the world around us by inspiring, educating and promoting the arts and art appreciation for our diverse community,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council is a vital part of the fabric of the community and is a gathering point for its diverse members,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council provides hundreds of multidisciplinary arts classes, camps, programs, and community outreach events to the greater West Windsor, NJ region,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council partners with over 50 local businesses and service organizations to address the challenges of our times through the arts,
WHEREAS, the West Windsor Arts Council provides volunteer opportunities to over 100 adults and youth to make a difference in their community,
WHEREAS, 2020 was the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the West Windsor Arts Center,
WHEREAS it is the heartfelt desire of the Mayor and Council of West Windsor to recognize the work of the many volunteers and staff of the West Windsor Arts Council and to thank them for bringing these benefits to our community,
THEREFORE, Mayor Hemant Marathe and the Township Council of the Township of West Windsor do hereby commemorate the 10th anniversary of the West Windsor Arts Center by issuing this proclamation and encourage residents to recognize the positive impact of the West Windsor Arts Council in our community; to thank those who serve; and to find ways to support them and the work they do.
