So you are wondering what is happening at the arts center.  Behind the scenes there is always a lot going on!

September has been a busy month…

Early September we held the opening reception for Trenton Community A*TEAM (whose organization grew out of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen).  This is an amazing show by self-taught artists, all supporting a good local cause.  Come out to see their art – money from every work sold goes directly to the artists.

Next up we had a “Day of Social Giving” with ZS Associates .  We never turn down a helping hand, and this group outdid themselves, painting the lobby a new color to match our logo – Whipped Strawberry! We hope it will make you smile when you walk in the door.

We are doing a project with YWCA Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) in support of their annual fundraiser.  A group of our artists painted and decorated a silhouette of a breast cancer survivor on canvas and then window dressed the display for BCRC’s pop-up gallery at MarketFair Shopping Center. Check it out during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in the storefront across from the GAP.

Sewa USA, NJ Chapter continues to maintain the yard and plants at the art center. If you see them in their yellow t-shirts on a Sunday morning working in the garden – give them a cheer as you drive by!  We are so thankful for their help.

We had lots of fun at West Windsor’s Community Day! We met so many new faces and had fun with scratch art. We shared some of the many upcoming events happening at the arts center and encouraged those interested to sign up for art classes.

Then coming in October we have more partnerships and collaborations: a group of photographers associated with West Windsor Arts will juror the West Windsor Library/Mercer County Library amateur photo contest, plus Executive Director, Aylin Green, will jury the local Lion’s Club chapter’s International Peace Poster Contest.

There is always lots going on inside (and outside) our doors.
