Learn to get the part you want! In this interactive course you will sharpen your audition skills and our format will support you while giving positive feedback. This workshop is limited to only a small number of participants. This two session audition technique and casting seminar will prepare musical theater actors to learn what it takes to secure a role and get cast from auditions for school plays, broadway, professional stage, film, or television.Session 1Perfect the art of Auditions and Showcase your true potential with our Audition Casting Technique class. Collaborate with a professional actor/director to hone the skills needed to captivate Casting directors, schools, college admissions panels and more.Session 1 of this course will equip students with a repertoire of show-stopping musical excerpts, compelling monologues, and engaging scenes that will propel them toward their dreams. All skill levels are welcome. Continues in session 2. Session 2 Perfect the art of Auditions and showcase your true potential with our Audition Casting Technique class. You will prepare and do a test Professional Audition. We will direct you how to format your epk, Casting Portfolio for Auditions, Artist Resume, Biography, Headshot and Collaborate with a professional actor/director to put together the needed presentation materials to captivate Casting directors, for Professional Auditions, school, college admissions panels and more and learn criteria of a Professional Audition. This Session 2 class will teach students necessary materials to compile such as a Bio, Resume and Headshot. Along with reviewing Session 1 materials; repertoire of show-stopping musical excerpts, compelling monologues, and engaging scenes to complete the Audition process needed to propel them toward their dreams. All skill levels are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to perform for and receive feedback from a professional casting director.

About the Teaching Artist

Ellen Renee

Ellen Renee’s proven musical theatre teaching method combines structure in a challenging and fun way. A performing arts industry veteran, she has been on stage since age 6. Ellen Renee got her start under a Juilliard-trained professional and has performed professionally for many years on stages in New Jersey, New York (Radio City) and Atlantic City performing in the musicals “Pippin,” “Cabaret” and Oklahoma, to name a few. Ellen Renee teaches novice through professional levels and was the director of a 450-student Academy of Performing Arts for over 10 years. Ellen Renee has trained and placed many artists in lead roles on Broadway in “Cats” and “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as star performances on the “Main Stage at Walt Disney World, Florida.” Her students have gone on to professional venues and stage performances, appeared in commercials and print work ads, and been seen on major channels.
