West Windsor Arts invites our members to join a committee that collaborates with the staff and board on various projects and efforts that support our mission. We welcome adults who are not currently committee members to attend meetings in order to see if this level of support will be of interest to them. We hear from our committee members that their involvement provides opportunities to develop new skills, serve their community and interact with a great group of people. Committee service can also lead to board membership.
Provides strategy and oversight related to internal and operational issues, such as finance, human resources, programming (including artistic and educational), and facilities.
Provides strategy and oversight related to external issues and outreach, such as fundraising (including grants, fundraising events and annual campaigns), public relations (advocacy and outreach including membership), marketing and communications.
Supports the health and functioning of the board, such as recruiting and orienting new members, producing board materials, fostering ongoing board development, and evaluating the performance of the board itself.
Participates in presenting several public art exhibitions per year. This includes: rotating as the lead of at least one exhibition, artist record-keeping, supplemental marketing, installation and de-installation assistance, seeking sponsorship, attending and supporting receptions, and jurying art as needed.
Provides feedback on audience surveys, development of classes, camps, new programs, and other features of the education program, including the Certificate in Fine Arts (CiFA) and the annual Faculty and Student Show. Supports efforts to provide access to the programs for all, including fundraising for scholarships, promotion of offerings and making community connections.
Assists in evaluating the accessibility of facilities, programs and services for people with disabilities. Provides input with regard to development of current and future programs and services. Actively participates in and ensures adherence to the board-approved Grievance Procedure and Policy. Assists constituents with accessing referrals.
