Build your drawing skills by learning and improving on technique, drawing vocabulary, and experimenting with the different drawing tools of an artist. We will explore hues, tones, shading, and light sources with drawing techniques like scribbling, cross-hatching, and stippling to create depth and draw realistic subjects by perfecting every feature with drawing skills. This class will explore tradition studio practices, such as still life studies, figure drawing, and drawing from reference. New projects and subjects will be explored, so both new and continuing students are welcome. *This class is a part of our Certificate in Fine Arts Program and will give each student one point towards their CiFA certification.
Rich Green has been studying art for more than 17 years and is a freelance comic book artist and a teacher of art. He learned the medium of comics at the Joe Kubert School and Comics Experience. When Rich is not creating comics, he enjoys creating oil paintings and charcoal drawings from life. In recent years, Rich has grown in the way he approaches an illustration by pivoting from an observational form of drawing to an analytical one.
