In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore various pour painting techniques while learning the essential skills for successful results. We’ll cover how to properly prepare your canvas, which paints work best, and how to mix colors effectively to avoid muddy results. Techniques will be introduced like "ribbon pouring" (blending two or three colors as they flow onto the canvas), manipulating the paint by tilting the canvas, using straws to create unique textures and depth, and guiding paint with toothpicks for intricate details. We’ll also experiment with crushed paper towels for a sponge-like effect. This workshop emphasizes creative expression, play, and the joy of working with color and movement in a fluid, intuitive way. No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to let the paint flow! Artwork will be done on 8x8 canvases - we should have enough time to create two pieces of art. It is encouraged to try this workshop out even if you have absolutely zero experience with any paints! Non-artists/creatives have loved it! Children 8+ are welcome to join with a parent or guardian. Both child and parent must be registered and participating.$8 cash materials fee due to the teaching artist at the beginning of the workshop
