This talk will be presented by Ellen Roger. Ellen Roger’s love of art began as a child spending many hours drawing and painting. She has a degree in Art Education from Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, and a Masters Degree in Education from California State University. Her passion for art has led to teaching positions in schools and facilitating education programs in art galleries. Ellen still enjoys creating art and her paintings reflect an appreciation of nature. As a Princeton University Art Museum docent, she is presenting online tours and doing in person outdoor campus sculpture tours during the construction of our new museum. Ellen’s role as a docent is to help others navigate the language of art through close looking and open interpretation. She hopes her and her guests go a journey together, exploring art while gaining new insights about each other and the world.

Docents at Princeton University Art Museum use their knowledge and passion to make their chosen topics fun and engaging to everyone. The docent program at Princeton University Art Museum involves an intensive training program, consisting of lectures, gallery sessions, research, and presentations to fellow trainees and other docents. Docents then continue their education throughout their years of service by attending docent meetings, participating in study groups, attending gallery talks, and taking trips with fellow docents to other regional museums.

This exciting series brings you new topics on the arts from local and regional organizations, museums and galleries. Each session features presentations from various experts, online with Zoom.

Our art talks Lunchtime Gallery Series is free to WWA Members (any level) and $10 to all others. Everyone must register. Zoom link will be sent the day before the event.

What to expect:

Our art talks with the Lunchtime Gallery Series hope to inform and engage audiences with a range of topics in the arts. We bring in local organizations, providing a platform for them to reach new people with shared interests in learning and becoming informed in cultural topics, all presented in central New Jersey with Zoom.
