West Windsor Arts encourages the development of other artist groups by creating invitational art shows. We have invited the members of Art Alliance of Monmouth County to exhibit their work in our gallery. We are excited to offer this opportunity to their group of talented artists and to be able to share their work with our community.

Exhibiting artists, including Elaine Shor, Principal Officer of Art Alliance of Monmouth County, will be on hand to talk about their work.

Artist Joy Kreves

Juror: Joy Kreves
JOY KREVES is a mixed media artist whose works explore the human – earth connection.  Currently she is in several exhibitions including her solo show, Fierce Caryatids, in Pennington, NJ. These are large photographic banners depicting her Distressed Forest sculptures made of upcycled items, each being worn as a fanciful crown on a “fierce caryatid” woman. Other highlights of her career include her sculpture, “Mourning Rock With Kickstand” that won Best of Show in the 2021 Mercer County Senior Exhibition and went on to win 2nd place in the 2021 New Jersey State Senior Exhibition. “Questions for a Forest” was exhibited at the 2019 Hopewell Tour Des Arts. In 2017 she exhibited with the Animal Architects artist group started and curated by Donna Payton, in their exhibitions at Arts Council of Princeton and at the Monmouth Museum. Her “Craving Nature: The Feast Project” installation was shown at the West Windsor Art Center in the spring of 2017. “Questions For a Tree”, her interactive community project, was exhibited at The Tulpehaking Nature Center Galleries in Hamilton, NJ, as part of the “ROOTED” exhibition.  Kreves has exhibited extensively at area galleries and museums including Rider University Art Gallery, and The D&R Greenway Land Trust in Princeton. Currently she also curates occasional exhibitions at Suburban Frontier, her Ewing studio/gallery.

A native of Illinois, Kreves earned both Bachelor and Masters degrees in art from Illinois State University. Kreves’ artworks have been featured in many exhibitions, and she has served as a juror in several venues in New Jersey, New York, and PA.
