In mixed media: 3-D techniques, come explore the third dimension… We will create both wall-hanging and table-top artworks using found objects, reclaimed packaging, wood, wire, acrylic paint, adhesives, hardware, and bling! Students will use a range of construction techniques to build sturdy structures and attach objects securely, then add excitement with moving parts and LED lights. We will learn to think about composition in layers, and how ornamentation builds dramatic effect.

This is a great class for painters who would like to expand their repertoire, for people who don’t draw or paint but like to work with their hands, for people who collect cool stuff or hate to throw broken things away, and appropriate for beginners. New and continuing students welcome, as we will explore new projects and ideas.

$20 materials fee due to the instructor on the first day of class for new students. $5 materials fee due for returning students. The instructor will provide the tools and materials needed in class, and will suggest useful additions to a basic tool kit (optional). We will also use recycled materials, and students are welcome to bring their own small found objects to incorporate in their work.

Wear clothes that can get messy or bring an apron.
