The Museum sits atop Valley Forge Mountain in Chester County, Pennsylvania and is set on 12 wooded acres. The campus comprises multiple buildings, including Wharton Esherick’s Studio, the centerpiece of the organization. This program gives an introductory look at the sculptor’s life and work through a tour of his beautiful, handcrafted Studio. During the tour, we’ll highlight a few of the artist’s works that illuminate his talent in multiple media such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, and furniture.

Ethan Snyder, Wharton Esherick Museum’s manager of collections and public program Presenter, Ethan Snyder, is the Wharton Esherick Museum’s manager of collections and public programs. Ethan works to steward the museum’s collections and develop programs that offer visitors new and meaningful experiences on- and off-site. Before returning to the Esherick Museum in 2023, he earned a Master of Arts from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture where he studied systems of furniture production during the late nineteenth-century. While a graduate student at Winterthur, Ethan learned about the power of objects, materials, and craft knowledge to tell human stories. Beyond his time at the Esherick, he has gained experience working with Freeman’s Auction, Historic Germantown, and the Rose Valley Museum and Historical Society.
