It was a warm but beautiful day for the second ever ArtWalk on May 22, 2021. West Windsor Arts staff and volunteers got an early start setting up tables and tents in our parking lot and backyard in order to host the families and individuals who came to merge the arts with health at our first in-person, outdoor event since we closed our doors over a year ago due to the spread of COVID-19.

Our 1-mile family fun walk started from our driveway and headed down Scott Avenue and around the block back to the art center. Along the way, signs of encouragement featured inspirational quotes and a scavenger hunt of artwork. Families had lots of fun, blowing bubbles, finding art, and even saw a real artist doing “plein air” drawing along the way!

“A line is a dot that went for a walk.” Paul Klee, artist
Upon their return to the art center, walkers were greeted by staff and volunteers, cheering their accomplishment and presenting them with a walk certificate. Then, it was on to the art activities and picnic lunch by Helpful Foodie. We were also joined by our new friends, Scott Cottage Art + Play for some sensory play activities and by Ron Frank with his assemblage sculpture robots.
We hope everyone enjoyed their day with us and we are looking forward to doing an ArtWalk again next spring. Hope to see you there!
